Sunday Nov 9 - EkaterinburgSent: 10 Nov 2003 06:38:40 GMT Thanks to everyone who has passed on their words of encouragement. Today is actually day 12 since the court date and no Bailey yet, because day 10 fell on Nov. 7, the day of the Revolution. I am keeping my fingers crossed that I will get her tomorrow afternoon. I'm not counting on anything though because I hear that the Monday after a Friday off means lots more paperwork & waiting. On Friday, Marlene (from Toronto, who is adopting a little girl also) had a party at the orphanage for her little girl Leah, who turned one. We had a great time. It was so nice to do something a bit different from our routine. I bought a few gifts at the supermarket(!) and wrapped them in colourful magazine pages, and made hats from the magazine also. The caregivers put huge fluffy bows on the girls, even on Bailey who has no hair! I'll post pictures once I'm home. It was very sweet. They then joined us for tea and cake. (**Note: due to the loss of the digital camera memory, these photos were lost**) Yesterday was a bit hard for me, because Sullivan turned five. When I talked to him on the phone he invited Bailey and I to his party at home. I really miss him and I know it's hard for him to understand why it is taking so long. Thank goodness for my husband Andrew who has been amazing at taking care of things at home - he made 24 cupcakes for the school party and just sent me a picture of the Scooby Doo cake he made for Sullivan's party at home! It's fantastic! I have to admit the routine is getting to me. I know I'll soon be so busy with a ten month old that I won't even remember being bored! Can't wait. Goodbye for now Maureen |
